So grab a snack and your drink of choice, and let’s dive right in! I know we all love those stories, but don’t let that discourage you from reading this one. Ness gives you it all with this book–only it’s not the story of a remarkable hero like Katniss Everdeen, Harry Potter, Robin Hood, or (my favorite) Buffy Summers. When I saw the blue cover of The Rest of Us Just Live Here, I knew I just had to pick it up. After reading The Knife of Never Letting Go, I was ravenous for more of Ness’s distinctive writing style and characters. I had a good cry twice and am pleased to say Ness is now one of my favorite authors. The Rest of Us Just Live Here does not disappoint, to say the least. ![]() and something worth remembering after reading.a good cry (even if it is just one tear…my heart is breaking on the inside, okay?).When reading Patrick Ness (the Chaos Walking trilogy, A Monster Calls, and Burn), I can always expect these three things: Patrick Ness, The Rest of Us Just Live Here Most people just have to live their lives the best they can, doing things that are great for them, having great friends, trying to make their lives better, and loving people correctly-all the while knowing that the world makes no sense but trying to find a way to be happy anyway. Not everyone has to be the guy who saves the world. ![]()
